A Few Reasons to Choose Grande Tacks

THEY ARE EASY TO PUSH INTO EVERTITE BARS OR OTHER STRETCHER FRAMES.

MORE TACK IS COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE CANVAS AND THIS SHOULD PROVIDE A FIRMER GRIP, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING EVERTITE FRAMES OR LONG BARS.

THEY HAVE A LONG SHAFT TO ADD TO THE GRIP.

IF YOU USE LARGER “DOMED” TACKS, YOUR FLOORSTAND (OR WHATEVER YOU USE) WILL MOST LIKELY GRIP YOUR STRETCHER BARS MORE FIRMLY.

YOU CAN USE THE LITTLE SQUARE MAGNETS ON TOP TO HOLD YOUR NEEDLES.

WHEN YOU PULL YOUR THREADS TO THE FRONT, YOU CAN ANCHOR THEM ON THE TACKS USING THE LITTLE SQUARE MAGNETS. YOUR THREADS WILL THEN BE OUT OF YOUR WAY UNTIL YOU AGAIN NEED TO USE THEM.

TWO ADJACENT TACKS WITH MAGNETS CAN BE USED TO ANCHOR A METAL LAYING TOOL, SCISSORS, ETC.

THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO REMOVE THE TACKS IS TO SLIDE SOMETHING UNDER THE CANVAS AND GENTLY LIFT.  THE TACK SHOULD REMOVE EASILY.  IF YOU TRY TO PUSH ANYTHING UNDER THE TACK, YOU MAY BEND THE TACK.   (I PERSONALLY USE A COMMON BUTTER KNIFE TO BOTH INSERT AND REMOVE THE TACKS.)

THESE TACKS ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND SOME ROUGH HANDLING.  IF YOU BEND A SHAFT OF A TACK, SIMPLY USE A SMALL NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND STRAIGHTEN IT, AND IT WILL BE READY TO USE AGAIN!
